The ongoing ninth edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2019-20 has yet witnessed another stunning fielding effort during the 50th BBL 09 match between Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Thunder on Friday (January 24).

Though, this time two cricket players amazed the BBL 09 fans and hogged the limelight with their fabulous fielding efforts at the boundary in Hobart and they are Australia's Alex Ross and England’s Alex Hales – both plays for Thunder in the ongoing T20 event.

The first enthralling event took place during the fifth over of the Hurricanes’ innings when Macalister Wright aerially flicked a second delivery of the over by Thunder’s pacer Gurinder Sandhu toward square leg and he was almost lost his wicket for just six, but the Aussie failed to complete the "Catch of Millennium” to give him lifeline in Hobart.

Ross, who was fielding at deep square leg, came up with an incredible fielding effort at the boundary, as he ran hard to grab the ball, and even he caught the ball but he had to throw the ball high in the air as he stepped over the rope.

However, Ross attempted another try at the catch while diving back, but unfortunately, he missed the chance and the ball rolled into the rope for four. Though, he saved two runs for the team.

The official Twitter handle of BBC has shared the video with a caption, “Oh, whoa, oh! Nooooo! Alex Ross has nearly taken the catch of the MILLENNIUM!”

Meanwhile, Thunder's Hales managed to grab a stunning catch at long-on during the fifth ball of the 13th over to dismiss Hurricanes’ hard-hitting batsman David Miller in Hobart.

Showing his incredible athleticism, Hales jumped up to take the catch and even he easily grabbed the ball, but it took him over the boundary, although, the 31-year-old managed to throw the ball up in the air and dive back into the field of play to avoid scraping the rope to complete the stunner.

The BBL also shared Hales’ brilliant efforts on Twitter, sharing the video with a caption: “Alex Ross couldn't quite pull it off... Alex Hales could!”
