Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is in great form with the bat for the Melbourne Stars in the ongoing ninth edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2019-20.

Maxwell has been receiving applauds from the cricketing fraternity as well as making news for his hard-hitting batting after returning from the break to deal with his mental health in the ongoing BBL 09 and now Peter Siddle is going gaga over the all-rounder’s stellar form in the tournament.

The right-hander is currently the third leading run-scorer with 316 runs in his 9 outings after Marcus Stoinis (478) and Shaun Marsh (319) in the ongoing BBL 09.

Recently, former Australian pace bowler Siddle, who is currently plying his trade for the Adelaide Strikers in the BBL 09, has showered rich praise on Maxwell, comparing the all-rounder to South African batting great AB de Villiers for his 360 hitting ability.

In the tournament so far, the 31-year-old was seen hitting the ball all around the park and Siddle feels De Villiers who is set to make his BBL debut for Brisbane Heat in the ongoing tournament, and his Aussie teammate has the ability to hit the ball everywhere.

As per reports in cricket.com.au, Siddle said: “We know what he can do, he can hit the ball everywhere. It's like bowling to Maxi (Glenn Maxwell) isn't it?”

Siddle, who recently retired from international cricket, is all set play De Villiers in the Tuesday's (January 14) BBL clash and the bowler hopes the Proteas superstar would a 'little bit rusty'. He signed off by saying, “It's going to be tough, but hopefully he's a little bit rusty and it works in our favor.”
