Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is enjoying a great time with the bat in the ongoing ninth edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2019-20 ever since he returned from the break to deal with his mental health and even admitted that break is behind his incredible form in the tournament.
He had taken the break from cricket citing mental health issues during the T20I series against Sri Lanka last October. After recovering from mental health issues, Maxwell has made a commendable return to cricket, as the right-hander is currently the second leading run scorer with 331 runs in his 8 outings for Melbourne Stars in the ongoing BBL 09.
Well on Friday (January 10), Maxwell was seen in his destructive avatar at the Docklands Stadium as he has once again played a blistering knock to lead Melbourne Stars from the front to a 7-wicket victory over the defending champions Melbourne Renegades.

The 31-year-old came to bat when the Stars were at 54/3, though he took his time to assess things to take his team closer before playing his shots.
The all-rounder turned violent when the Stars needed 60 off the final five overs, hitting an array of six jaw-dropping sixes in the last 16 balls he faced to finish with an unbeaten 83 off 45 balls (7 sixes and 1 four) to chase down 168 with eight balls to spare against the Melbourne Renegades.
Following his fabulous innings, Australian cricket legend, and commentator Mark Waugh has showered rich praise on Maxwell, comparing the all-rounder’s hitting abilities to the West Indian cricketing great Sir Vivian Richards.
Taking to Twitter, Waugh wrote: “Just watching G.Maxwell on @FoxCricket i don’t think I’ve seen a batsmen hit the ball as hard since the great sir Vivian.#smashingem”
Brief scores: Melbourne Renegades 168 for 7 in 20 overs (Shaun Marsh 63; Nathan Coulter-Nile 2/29, Haris Rauf 1/25)
Melbourne Stars 169 for 3 in 18.4 overs (Glenn Maxwell 83*; Samit Patel 1/21)
