Bengal coach Arun Lal has on Wednesday (December 25) denied any negative impact of senior pacer Ashoke Dinda's suspension for misconduct, saying it's an opportunity to find next Dinda.
Dinda had been at odds with Bengal’s bowling coach Ranadeb Bose for many months and on the eve of the team’s first 2019-20 Ranji Trophy fixture against Andhra, the veteran pacer crossed all the limits, throwing abuses at the coach in front of all other players – which prompted the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) to drop him from the Ranji squad.
Following the latest development, Bengal had to change their bowling combination, but Lal sees it is an opportunity for a youngster to step up and leave a mark in the absence of senior pacer, though, said its unfortunate for Dinda but they will respect CAB's decision.

Lal told reporters after proceedings on the opening day, “It's not a negative thing. It's an opportunity to find the next Dinda. Some young man comes and takes five wickets and suddenly the whole balance changes. You want that to happen.”
He signed off by saying, “You need to have that reserve bench. When somebody gets unfit or not available for some reason, it's a great opportunity for Bengal cricket. Of course, it's unfortunate that Dinda is not there. He would have been playing but it's CAB's decision. But the game goes on.”
Noteworthy, it is yet o known whether the 35-year-old, who has represented India in 13 ODIs and nine T20 Internationals, gets to play for Bengal again or not, as he had earlier threatened not to play for Bengal after being dropped from the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy squad.
