Match 5- Sylhet Thunder v Rajshahi Royals

The fifth match of BPL 2019-20 saw Sylhet Thunder take on Rajshahi Royals at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka. Royals won the toss and fielded first.

Alok Kapali’s 3/17 and two wickets each from Ravi Bopara and Farhad Raza kept the Thunder to just 91 runs in 15.3 overs with Mohammad Mithun and Mosaddek Hossain making 20 runs each. In reply, Liton Das made 44* and Afif made 30 as Royals reached the target in 10.5 overs and won by 8 wickets.

Match 6- Dhaka Platoon v Cumilla Warriors

The sixth match was played between Dhaka Platoon and Cumilla Warriors at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka. Warriors won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Tamim Iqbal made 74, Thisara Perera made 42* and Luke Evans made 23 as the Platoon put on 180/7 in 20 overs. Dasun Shanaka (2/48) and Soumya Sarkar (2/39) were the best bowlers for Warriors. In reply, Thisara Perera picked 5/30 and Wahab picked 2/16 as, despite Dawid Malan’s 40, Mahidul Islam’s 37 and Soumya Sarkar’s 35, the Warriors only managed 160/9 in 20 overs.

Platoon won the match by 20 runs.
