A month Manish Pandey would cherish for long, in fact, for a special reason, he would remember it for a lifetime. The Karnataka captain led his side to Mushtaq Ali Trophy win on Sunday. They beat Tamil Nadu in the final by just one run.
Pandey, who scored unbeaten 60 runs in the final, will be playing for India in the upcoming series against West Indies. But before that, the 30-year-old is getting married to Indian film actor, Ashrita Shetty on Monday in Mumbai.
"Looking forward to the India series, but before that there is another important series for me, I am getting married tomorrow," Manish said after Karnataka's win.
"We [Karnataka] won it last year but this year the victory was a lot sweeter. The way the boys played the entire tournament has been unbelievable. Everyone has put in so much effort that I thought it was a very good game. It came neck to neck but we deserved it."
Manish joined the team despite a busy schedule. He had to fly to Mumbai soon after the game.
Although Pandey needed to put a little extra stress on his body, the cricketer won't mind it considering the result he got. December kicked-off in the best way possible for him. He would like to make it a lot better with his performance for India later this month.
