After meeting a delegation comprising of Jammu and Kashmir skipper Parvez Rasool, mentor Irfan Pathan and a senior official at the BCCI headquarters on Monday (November 11), new board president Sourav Ganguly has assured his full support for development of cricket in the valley.

Various issues that have plagued the sport's growth in J&K were discussed in the meeting.

"The BCCI president heard their points and has assured full support for the development of cricket in the region. We have requested the BCCI president to provide us with better facilities," a senior J&K Cricket Association official privy to the development told PTI on conditions of anonymity.

"We expect that the home games of Jammu and Kashmir will once again be played in Jammu. We have a college ground in Jammu and we plan to upgrade and develop the facilities there so that first-class matches can be conducted," the official added.

The JKCA has had a crisis like situation to overcome but the official said they've assured Ganguly that all problems will be sorted out in the coming months.  Pathan and Rasool, however, declined to comment.

J&K is currently playing the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 in Surat led by Shubham Pundir in Rasool’s absence.
