Punjab pacer Sandeep Sharma ran through Haryana's batting line-up with a seven-fer in the elite group encounter of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy in Vadodara on Sunday (October 6).

Sandeep picked up 7/19 in his eight overs as Punjab bundled out Haryana for just 49 runs in only 16 overs. It was an unforgettable collapse where only Nitin Saini (22) reached the 20-run mark for Haryana.

Besides Sandeep, fast bowler Siddarth Kaul also had a good outing as he delivered a fine spell of 3/29 at the other end.

However, despite magnificent bowling performance from Sandeep and Kaul, and an easy target on board, Punjab didn't find life easy during the short run-chase, losing seven wickets before finally reaching home.

It was that a kind of a day for the bowlers as Ajit Chahal (4/32) and Harshal Patel (2/12) led Haryana's fight with very little to play with.

Punjab opener Abhishek Sharma (22) remained unbeaten as the only batsman from his team to reach double figures.

Brief scores:

Haryana 49 in 16 overs (Nitin Saini 22; Sandeep Sharma 7/19) lost to Punjab 50/7 in 15.1 overs (Abhishek Sharma 22; Ajit Chahal 4/32) by three wickets.
