Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019: Vijay Shankar slams 91* in first List-A match since World Cup

Shankar was injured by Bumrah's yorker during World Cup 2019.

Tamil Nadu continued their dominant run in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019 by winning their third game on the trot in Elite, Group C. This time they defeated Bihar soundly by 7 wickets.

Batting first Bihar lost their openers quite early, but captain Babul Kumar struck a fine century- 110 in 136 balls with 12 fours and 1 six and with contributions from Mohammad Rahmatullah (38) and Keshav Kumar (35) took the team to 217/7 in 50 overs. Tamil Nadu bowlers were at their best with M Mohammed picking 3/33.

In reply, N Jagadeesan (24) and A Mukund (37) gave a solid start but then lost three wickets quickly. But Baba Aparajith made 52* and Vijay Shankar made 91*, a solid score on return after suffering the toe injury during the 2019 World Cup. TN made 218/3 in 46.5 overs and won the match quite comfortably by 7 wickets.
