Syed Mushtaq Ali T20: Shreyas Iyer (147) makes the highest T20 score by an Indian

Iyer also hit a record 15 sixes in the match with Mumbai scoring 258/4.

Shreyas Iyer's 147 is the highest score by an Indian in T20 cricket Mumbai’s Shreyas Iyer has smashed the record for the highest T20 score by an Indian batsman, as he smashed 147 against Sikkim at the Emerald High School Ground, Indore in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 trophy.

After Mumbai batted first and lost two wickets for 22 runs, Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav took the Sikkim bowlers apart. Suryakumar made 63 in 33 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes and added 213 runs for the 3rd wicket with Iyer. Iyer smashed 35 runs in an over off Sikkim medium-pacer Tashi Bhalla.

Meanwhile, Iyer was on another level altogether, as he smacked 147 off 55 balls with 7 fours and 15 sixes and took the team to 258/4 in 20 overs. This score by Mumbai is the third-highest T20 score in India and the seventh highest in all T20 cricket.

Shreyas Iyer’s 147 broke Rishabh Pant’s record of 128* and also broke the record of M Vijay’s 11 sixes, the most by an Indian in T20 cricket with his record 15 sixes.
