Ambati Rayudu is likely to lead the Hyderabad cricket team in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy -a premier Domestic T20 tournament starting from Wednesday (20th February).
Hyderabad is placed in Group E along with Puducherry, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Baroda, Tripura, Service, and Uttarakhand and will open their campaign against Puducherry in Delhi on 20 Feb.
However, Rayudu had announced his retirement from First-class cricket recently, but the batsman would be available for the shorter formats of the game in the domestic circuit.
Meanwhile, it is learned that the 33-year-old is expected to play three or four league matches of the Syed Mushtaq Ali for Hyderabad before joining Indian Cricket Team for the One Day International series against Australia starting from 2 March at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here.
On the other hand, star fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, who toured Australia and New Zealand, also returned to the stateside for the premier T20 tournament, while hard-hitting batsman J Mallikarjun and all-rounder Ashish Reddy also made a comeback into the Hyderabad team.
