Gautam Gambhir celebrated his last sojourn in the beautiful game with a fantastic ton against Andhra Pradesh at the historic Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in the premier domestic first-class competition, Ranji Trophy.

The former India opener received a guard of honor from the Andhra players when he walked out to bat and mesmerized the small crowd that turned up with some delightful strokeplay through his innings.

Having brought up his 43rd first-class hundred with a quick double of Ayyappa Bandaru, the exceptional left-hander acknowledged a round of applause from the opponent as well as everyone present at the ground.

Gambhir eventually got out caught behind off Shoaib Khan but not before amassing a memorable knock of 112 from just 185 balls.

Earlier, on December 4, the 37-year-old announced his retirement from all forms of the game through a video posted via his official account over the social media network, Twitter.

Gambhir had top scored on nights of two of Indian Cricket's biggest occasions with his outstanding knocks of 75 and 97 in the final of 2007 ICC World T20 as well as ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011 respectively.

He accumulated 15,041 first-class runs and a massive 10,077 of them in List A cricket for Delhi. Gambhir went onto amass 4,154 runs at an average of 42 in Test Cricket and 5,238 ODI runs across 147 games for the country.
