The defeat against New Zealand meant the dream of a World Cup victory was over for India. They were one of the favorites to win the title but ended up struggling in the semifinal.

What made the fans more despondent was the thought of senior India cricketer MS Dhoni's retirement. Many guessed that was it for the 38-year-old and Dhoni won't play for India again. However, he hasn't made any announcement yet.

In the semifinal, Dhoni scored 50 but got out when India needed a finish from him. There wouldn't have been a better opportunity than this to steal the game for his time, at least one more time. But the wicket-keeper batsman was run-out when there was 9 more left in the match.

Apart from him, Ravindra Jadeja was the star performer with the bat. He scored 77 runs and gave India a hope to win the game after a top-order collapse.

Dhoni received criticism for failing to finish the game. But fans hoped he doesn't hang up his boot after the defeat. Twitterati started trending #DontRetireDhoni on Twitter to let Dhoni know what they want.
