Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson’s great sportsmanship has been doing rounds on the internet after India’s heartbreaking defeat in the World Cup 2019 semi-finals against New Zealand in Manchester.
The two have been winning hearts for their incredible sportsmanship before and after the high-pressure semi-final in Manchester, and that also caught the attention of former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum, who hailed the spirit of both teams besides these two legends.
However, the Men in Blue suffered a never-forgetting defeat against the Black Caps on Wednesday, 10th July, but their captain Williamson has been continuously winning hearts with his kind and humble gesture toward his counterpart Kohli and his team on the social media.
With the two star-studded sides entertained the Manchester crowd massively in a dramatic World Cup semi-final, all eyes were also on both captains – Kohli and Williamson, whose picture of hugging India captain and his words for him and his team well praised by one and all.
Taking to social media handle after enthralling CWC 2019 semi-final, McCullum hailed both Indian and Kiwis for giving one of the most memorable matches in the history of one-day cricket to the game.
McCullum shared a picture of Kohli and Williamson shaking hands with a great gesture with a heartfelt note that has also been winning hearts on social media.
His post reads: “Respect is hard-earned. There has to be a winner and there has to be a loser. It's how you carry yourself after both and when your emotions are raw that define you as a person and distinguish your character from others.”
McCullum signed off by saying, “Much love for both these men. Humble in success and gracious in defeat. Perfect guardians of this great game of ours.”
