Former English skipper Michael Vaughan again took a dig at cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar during the high voltage first semi-final of ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. 

This happened after Jadeja bowled a brilliant delivery to get rid of Henry Nicholls in the match between India vs New Zealand at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday. Jadeja bowled a stunner to put to end a 68-run stand between skipper Williamson and Henry (28).

Right after Jadeja provided India with the second breakthrough, Vaughan took social media to express his thoughts, and tweeted: “Bits & Piece can Spin it.”

With the tweet, Vaughan referred to Manjrekar’s word with respect to Jadeja, as during previous interviews, the former India cricketer referred the all-rounder as  ‘bits and pieces player’ in ODIs. Though it didn’t go down well for Sanjay as Jadeja hit him back through Twitter mode.

Manjrekar had said: “I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner.”

Jadeja in reply to Manjrekar’s tweet wrote: “Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved. I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhea.”

Earlier in the Semi-final 1 Kiwi skipper won the toss and elected to bat. A team batting first on this ground has won the matches on last five occasions, but overcast conditions assisted Indian pacers.

Two times World Champions India made just a single change, with Chahal replacing Kuldeep and the same meant there was no place for Indian sensation this World Cup Mohammed Shami.
