Bollywood actress and Indian skipper Virat Kohli's spouse Anushka Sharma came to the venue to watch India play Sri Lanka on Saturday. She was seen cheering for the team from the stands in Leeds.
Anushka and Kohli were previously spotted together in London ahead of India's World Cup 2019 match against Afghanistan.
It was India's last group stage game and they did pretty well to defeat Sri Lanka in a comfortable chase. Skipper Dimuth Karunaratne was interested in batting first after winning the toss on a used pitch. It was expected to make batting difficult in the second innings.
For Sri Lanka, Angelo Mathews scored a hundred (113) to give them a fighting opportunity. They ended up with 264/7 which looked very difficult when Sri Lanka was four down inside 20 overs.
In the chase, Rohit Sharma made the target look like a cake walk. He was given the man of the match for his 103 (94). His opening partner KL Rahul also got a hundred (111) as India won the game by 7 wickets with 39 balls left.
