Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed was a constant talk of the town on Sunday (June 16) during his team’s marquee World Cup 2019 clash with India in Manchester. Firstly, Sarfaraz came under the scanner for electing to field first after winning the toss and then he was mercilessly trolled on various social media platforms for yawning on the field while keeping.

The moment was captured on camera just after play resumed once the rain stopped in India’s innings. And following Pakistan’s 89-run defeat – their 7th successive loss to the arch-rivals in the tournament's history – fans took Sarfaraz to the task for his yawn while news channels played the clip on loop to scrutinise the skipper.

Coming to the match, India rode on Rohit Sharma’s breathtaking 140 off 113 balls and Virat Kohli’s 65-ball 77 to post 336/5 on the board. Opening the innings in place of injured Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul also impressed one and all with a patient knock of 57.

Defending the total, the Men in Blue lost one of their prime bowlers in Bhuvneshwar Kumar due to sore hamstring but the likes of Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya stepped up to the plate with a couple of wickets each. Wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav also claimed two scalps as India eventually restricted Pakistan to 212/6 in 40 overs after regular rains curtailed the game.
