CWC 2019: SL v AUS- Preview & Predicted Playing XIs

Sri Lanka have played just two games, with two matches being washed out so far.

The 20th match of the ICC World Cup 2019 will see Sri Lanka taking on Australia at the Kennington Oval in London. Sri Lanka’s campaign has been marred with rains as two of their matches have been rained out; while Australia has been amazingly precise in their games with just one loss in four matches.

Sri Lanka has the task of beating the likes of England, South Africa, India, and West Indies in order to progress to the semi-finals after two of their games were washed out. But before that, they will face Australia on June 15 and need to bring their best game forward. The Islanders have fundamental issues in their game with batting failing to come good in their previous two matches where they were bowled out for 136 against New Zealand and 201 for Afghanistan.

Australia, on the other hand, has been doing good but striving for improvement and better balance in the team. They are using two openers in the middle order and once Starc and Cummins are done with their spells, the backup bowlers are just not upto the mark. Langer, Ponting, and co, need to address this situation, as even Allan Border mentioned that Australia team is winning despite not playing good cricket.

Sri Lanka Predicted Playing XI:
Dimuth Karunaratne (C), Kusal Perera (WK), Lahiru Thirimanne, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Milinda Siriwardana, Dhananjaya de Silva, Thisara Perera, Isuru Udana, Suranga Lakmal, Lasith Malinga

Australia Predicted Playing XI:
David Warner, Aaron Finch (C), Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Alex Carey (WK), Pat Cummins, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Starc, Jason Behrendorff
