English pacer Jofra Archer was spitting fire against South Africa in his debut World Cup match, it was also the opening encounter of ICC World Cup 2019. Archer victimized three Proteas batsman with his pace. But the real victim was Hashim Amla, even though his wicket was picked by Liam Plunkett.

The South African opener was hit on the head by Archer's 90mph delivery. A physio rushed to the batter and checked if he is fine or not. Amla had to walk out just after 3.5 overs in the innings.

Hashim returned when his team was in deep trouble. With the score 167 for six in the 32nd over, he came out to bat and looked fine. However, Amla was soon dismissed on just 13 runs.

South Africa would be happy their veteran batsman is out of danger and doesn't suffer a severe injury.

“He (Amla) is okay now and when he came back to the dressing room, he looked fine and hopefully that’s a good sign for the next game,” said skipper Faf du Plessis.

The skipper added that they were outplayed in all three departments by England.

“I think we have been outplayed in all three departments. I think we were looking for 330-340 but when we took the pace off we thought 300 was par (while England was batting). Their batting was really good. They are a top-quality team and they showed that with the bat today. When we have Dale and all our resources, we back our bowling to restrict teams under 300,” said Du Plessis.
