Team India's only injury worry ahead of the World Cup, Kedar Jadhav has been passed fit and he will join rest of the team when they board the flight to London on Wednesday (May 22).

Jadhav had injured his shoulder when he fell on it during an IPL 2019 match between Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab. The injury is not serious enough to put his World Cup spot in jeopardy as confirmed on Monday by the chief selector, MSK Prasad.

Prasad told CricketNext, "We have got the medical certificate declaring Jadhav is fit to play in the World Cup. He will travel to the UK with the rest of the squad on Wednesday,"

"We received the fitness certificate from Farhart on Monday and we are satisfied with the report. Jadhav should be available for India's first game against South Africa," he added.

Team India's physio Patrick Farhart was called back from Australia to aid in Jadhav's rehabilitation over the last two weeks. A fitness test on Jadhav was conducted on Thursday in Mumbai.

If Jadhav had failed to recover in time, India was expected to pick one of the standby players Rishabh Pant, Ambati Rayudu or Akshar Patel as replacement.

India will start their World Cup campaign against South Africa on June 5. Before that the Virat Kohli led team will play two warm-up matches on May 25 and 28 against New Zealand and Bangladesh respectively.
