The Indian squad for the ICC World Cup 2019 will be flying out to the UK for the tournament on May 22 and the BCCI were in a fix how to arrange for their travel, given their preferred flying partners Jet Airways has grounded their fleet due to the cashflow crunch.

The Indian board was looking for alternate airlines which has a fleet big enough to provide them with 30 business class berths to accommodate the whole squad which is tough as the demands are increased for all the airlines with the cancellation of Jet aircraft. “It’s a challenge but we are addressing it. The team will leave as planned on or before May 22,” the BCCI official said while speaking to Mumbai Mirror.

The BCCI has finally found a solution to their flying problem and has booked seats on Emirates Airways, who are also the preferred flying partners of ICC. The Indian team for the World Cup will depart for London at 4 am on May 22 by Emirates, as per reports from Economic Times.

The Indian team is scheduled to play its first game against South Africa on June 5 at the Oval.
