Notably, MS Dhoni will turn up for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming IPL edition, slated to get underway on March 22. It could be his last season in the cash-rich league.

Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction, BCCI introduced the uncapped player rule, allowing franchises to retain Indian cricketers who haven’t played international cricket for the past five years.

CSK made the most of this rule as they retained Dhoni for INR 4 crore. Having last played for India in the 2019 World Cup, the 43-year-old fulfilled the eligibility criteria.
