On Tuesday, March 4, India and Australia faced off in the Dubai International Stadium in the first semi-final of the 2025 Champions Trophy. Virat Kohli was spotted jumping on the pitch after Mohammad Shami removed Cooper Connolly in the third over of the match.
Australia won the toss and sent the Men in Blue to the field. After giving Australian opener Travis Head an early relief by losing his catch off the first delivery of the game, Shami dispatched the other opening batter with his second over.
Connolly struggled to get started and could not connect regularly. The Indian pacer ended his difficulties by forcing him to edge a delivery into wicketkeeper KL Rahul's gloves. While the umpire was unsure about an edge and did not signal out, Rohit Sharma was confident in his appeal and asked for a review.
The DRS showed the ball edging the bat before KL Rahul caught it behind the stumps, prompting the on-field umpire to overturn his decision to out.
Virat Kohli, who is from Delhi but a Punjabi by birth, was seen returning to his origins and bringing out his inner Punjabi. The start batter was seen pulling out Bhangra's moves on the field.
