India and New Zealand clash in the final group stage game of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This match is being played in Dubai on March 2, 2025. Both India and New Zealand have qualified for the semi-finals.
The winner of this encounter will face Australia in the semi-final and the loser will clash with South Africa in the other semi-final.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Santner won the toss and chose to bowl first. Daryl Mitchell replaced Devon Conway in the Kiwi XI, while Varun Chakaravarthy replaced Harshit Rana in the Indian playing XI.
Matt Henry did early damage as Shubman Gill was out LBW for 2 runs and soon after hitting one four and a six, Kyle Jamieson dismissed Rohit Sharma as well.
Much was expected of Virat Kohli, who was playing his 300th ODI for India, becoming the 7th batter from the country to do so. He hit two sublime fours in his 14-ball knock but was left stunned as he was dismissed by Matt Henry.
Henry bowled a widish short delivery on off-stump to Kohli and seeing an opportunity to play the cut short, the Indian batter took the advantage. He cut the ball very hard, but the shot was aerial and Glenn Phillips, stationed at backward point, flew towards his right and took a one-handed stunner.

Not only was Virat Kohli stunned at Phillips' effort, but every Indian in the Dubai Stadium was left dumbfounded. Even Kohli’s wife, Anushka Sharma, who was present in the stands, was in disbelief at the catch.
