The Indian team members will reportedly be allowed to have their families in Dubai to watch one match during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. India will play all of its matches in Dubai, including the semi-final and final, if they qualify.

Last month, rumors surfaced that the BCCI had cracked the whip on Indian cricketers following the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and issued a 10-point directive to restore discipline.

The new guidelines allowed for a limited amount of time with family while on tour; for tours lasting more than 45 days, a player's family can stay with him for up to two weeks. According to speculations, cricketers selected for the 2025 Champions Trophy will not be permitted to travel with their families to the UAE.

According to the policy statement: "Players absent from India for more than 45 days during overseas tours can be joined by their partners and children (under 18) for one visit per series (format wise) of up to a two-week period."

However, according to Dainik Jagran, the BCCI has reversed its strict stance and reduced the limits for the flagship tournament, which begins on February 19. According to the daily, a BCCI insider stated that if a player desires, he can bring his family to Dubai for one match.

"A BCCI official said that the entire team is in Dubai, so no family has gone with them from the beginning. So far, every player has been allowed to take their family to only one match. However, he did not tell whether any player had asked for permission. He said it is up to the player to choose whether his family will accompany him to a match. Many people may not even take their family for a short period," the report added.

According to PTI, a BCCI source recently stated that a senior player inquired about making an exception for families during the Champions Trophy. If approved, the player must incur all expenditures personally, not the BCCI.

“…the players are unlikely to be accompanied by their wives or partners for this tour. One of the senior players had enquired about it, and he was told that the policy decision will be followed," the BCCI source was quoted as saying.

Group A includes India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand. The Indian team's campaign begins on February 20 against Bangladesh, followed by a blockbuster encounter with Pakistan on February 23, before ending against New Zealand on March 2.
