India's squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against England, as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, will be unveiled on Saturday (January 18), the BCCI said in an official statement.
As per the statement, India skipper Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarkar will address a press conference in Mumbai on Saturday.
The press conference will begin at 12:30 PM after the squad announcement. India head coach Gautam Gambhir will not attend the presser.
"The Men's Selection Committee will select India's squad for the IDFC First Bank ODI series against England and the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 tomorrow in Mumbai. The Selection Meeting will be followed by a press conference, details of which are under," the BCCI statement read.
Meanwhile, the BCCI has announced sweeping changes to Indian cricket team's player regulations in the aftermath of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy debacle.
India conceded the BGT 1-3 to Australia for the first time since 2014-15. Before the tour Down Under, the Rohit Sharma-led side also suffered a humiliating 0-3 whitewash at the hands of New Zealand in home conditions.
Cracking the whip against the players, the BCCI has decided to implement a stringent 10-point guidelines, including making participation in domestic tournaments mandatory to be eligible for national team selection and central contracts. It also warned of disciplinary action in case of non-compliance.
Before the ODIs against England, India will play a five-match T20I series against England, starting on January 22 in Kolkata. The three-match ODI series will get underway on February 6 in Nagpur.
The white-ball series against England is an ideal preparatory ground for the Indian players ahead of the eight-team Champions Trophy, slated to be held in Pakistan and UAE from February 19 to March 9.
India are placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand. The Men in Blue will open their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
