India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal sledged his Australian counterpart Sam Konstas on Day 2 of the fifth and final Border-Gavaskar Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

During the Boxing Day Test at MCG, Konstas had playfully taunted Jaiswal, targeting his weaknesses on the field. The Indian star was quick to retaliate with a powerful drive that struck the Australian debutant, who was fielding at silly point.

On Saturday (January 4), Konstas got a taste of his own medicine as Jaiswal teased him in Hindi about why he wasn’t playing his shots.

“Kya ho gya ab shot nahi dikh rahe kya (What happened? unable to see the shots now?). Oye Konstas, shots nahi lag rahe kya abhi (Hey Konstas, unable to play shots now?),” Jaiswal was caught saying on the stump mic.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s remark left former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan in splits at the commentary box as the video of the incident went viral on social media.

Coming to the match, Indian bowlers dominated the first two sessions of the second day’s play in Sydney. Resuming at 9/1, Australia’s first innings folded for 181 in 51 overs as the visitors took a meagre lead of four runs.  

Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj were the pick of the Indian bowlers, picking up three wickets each. Stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy also returned with a couple of scalps.
