Team India have been hit with an injury scare as their premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah walked off the field after feeling discomfort on Day 2 of the fifth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

The live visuals from official broadcasters saw Bumrah leaving the stadium premises in training gear to undergo scans. He was accompanied by a couple of support staff members.

“He is going to see some doctors, gets scans … we will know more in a little while," Ravi Shastri said on Fox Cricket's broadcast.

Nothing appeared serious when Bumrah initially left the field 30 minutes before Lunch. In the post-lunch session, he bowled just one over before once again going off the field.

With Rohit Sharma not featuring in the playing XI, Virat Kohli took over the captaincy duties in Bumrah’s absence.

Jasprit Bumrah has so far claimed two wickets in his 10 overs in the ongoing Sydney Test. Overall, the right-arm quick has taken 32 wickets in this BGT and needs one more to go past Harbhajan Singh’s record for most wickets in a bilateral Test series between the two countries.
