Former India cricketer R Ashwin’s cryptic post on X has gone viral especially as India lost the Melbourne Test of the BGT 2024 to Australia by 184 runs. This also meant that India conceded a 2-1 lead to Australia going into the final match in Sydney.

As Rishabh Pant (30) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (84) were scrapping for India and taking their time as the visitors strived for a draw in Melbourne, R Ashwin first posted ‘Good leaders emerge when they show resolve for a scrap ????????’

However, his responses were quickly flooded with criticism from fans for supposedly making a veiled dig at skipper Rohit Sharma and former captain Virat Kohli, who were dismissed for nine and five in the first session, respectively.

Here are some posts:

Perhaps seeing this, he reposted his original comment, saying, “This tweet isn’t for people who own fan clubs????????"

After a strong second session, India lost seven wickets for less than 50 runs in the evening, finishing all out for 155. Pant made an exceedingly hazardous move against Travis Head, a part-time player. Jaiswal stayed around for a while before getting a pull against Pat Cummins.

Ashwin also posted on X “Now a days, implied meaning can be taken out of context. I was referring to Jaiswals wonderful scrap today. Peace out folks

India and Australia will now play the final Test of BGT 2024 from January 3 in Sydney.
