Nitish Kumar Reddy, who stroked a wonderful 105* to help India get closer to Australia’s 474 in the ongoing 4th BGT 2024 Test in Melbourne, has been rewarded handsomely by the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA).
Nitish Reddy brought up his maiden Test century against Australia in a fighting cause, as he first added 127 runs with Washington Sundar for the 8th wicket, recusing India from 221/7 and then helped them end day three at 358/9.
The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) on Saturday announced a cash award of INR 25 lakhs to Reddy for his magnificent century at the MCG.
"It is a fortunate day and a happiest moment for the Andhra Cricket Association. We are very happy that a boy from Andhra has been picked for the Test format and international T20 format. As an honour, on behalf of the Andhra Cricket Association, Rs 25 lakh prize money is being given to Nitish Kumar Reddy," ACA President Kesineni Sivanath said.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is the first Indian and 5th overll to score a Test century in Australia from no.8 or lower and third youngest Indian to score a Test century after Sachin Tendulkar and Rishabh Pant.
