India batter Virat Kohli was in a confrontational mood after his dismissal in the first innings of the fourth BGT 2024 Test against Australia in Melbourne. Australia complied a well-made 474 thanks to Steve Smith’s brilliant 140 and his century partnership with Pat Cummins (49).
Facing a tough ask, India started poorly losing captain Rohit Sharma for 3 runs before KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal steadied the ship. But then Rahul received a beauty of a delivery by Pat Cummins after making 24 runs.
Then Virat Kohli and Jaiswal brought India back into the game with 102 runs for the 3rd wicket and it looked like India would go to stumps with a good total on the board.
However, a mix-up between Kohli and Jaiswal resulted in the run out of Jaiswal for 82 runs, and shortly after Virat Kohli was caught behind off Scott Boland for 36 runs.
As Virat Kohli was entering the pavilion, he received huge boos from the crowd near the entrancetor the ground. Hearing the said boos and some unwanted comments from the fans, Kohli came back out to confront the fans, before security cajoled him to go back.
