Virat Kohli was seen stopping Rohit Sharma from advising Mohammed Siraj as India attempted to bowl Australia out for cheap in the second innings of the recent third BGT 2024 Test in Brisbane. Instead, Kohli shared his plan to Siraj on how to get Steve Smith out.

India’s innings had folded for 260 runs after Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah added valuable 40 runs for the last wicket.

In response, Australia went after the Indian bowling to get as many runs as possible and make India bat again as they battled rain to get a result in the game. Cummins declared the Australian innings at 89/7 and set India 275 runs to win.

India had managed 8/0 in 2.1 overs when tea was taken and then heavy rain poured in Gabba and ultimately, the Test ended in a draw. The series is now leveled 1-1 with two more Tests remaining in Melbourne and Sydney.

One of the moments from the second session on Day 5 of the match got social media buzzing. It occurred at the start of the 11th over of Australia's second innings when Mohammed Siraj was given the new ball for his fourth over.

Rohit Sharma walked up to Siraj and told him to bowl over the wicket to Steve Smith. However, Virat Kohli chimed in and asked Siraj to continue around the wicket and bowl a scrambled seam delivery to get Smith out.

Here is how the conversation:

Rohit to Siraj: “Where are you bowling from?

Siraj: “Over the stumps.

Rohit: “Bowling over the stumps will make it easier for the batter to open up his stance.

Virat to Rohit: “No, no, let him bowl from over the stumps. If he bowls that scrambled seam delivery, there’s a higher chance of getting him out. He’s right (Siraj). Set the square leg a bit deeper for the inswing and let him bowl at the stumps.”

In the final ball of the over, Siraj dismissed Smith with a decent length ball on the middle stump that angled in and slid down the leg side. Smith walked over and appeared to glance it well, but was strangled down the leg side, with Rishabh Pant making the catch.
