India pacer Jasprit Bumrah was the visitors' saving grace in the ongoing third BGT 2024 Test against Australia. This match is being played at the Gabba in Brisbane, and the first day’s play was ruined by rain, with only 13.2 overs possible.
However, on day two, Jasprit Bumrah weaved his magic with the ball, first removing Usman Khawaja for 21 runs, as Rishabh Pant caught the opener. Next in line was Nathan McSweeney, who had to play at the ball and edged it to Virat Kohli in slips.
Then there was a huge 241-run partnership between Steve Smith (101) and Travis Head (152) that gave the advantage to the host team. However, it was Bumrah, who dismissed Smith to break the partnership, who was caught by India captain Rohit Sharma in the first slip.
Mitchell Marsh was the next victim, who fell for 5 runs and Travis Head followed soon for 152, which helped Jasprit Bumrah complete his five-wicket haul. This was Bumrah’s second fifer in BGT 2024 after the 6 wickets in Perth.
