On Day 1 of the pink-ball Test against Australia in Adelaide, India pacer Mohammed Siraj came under scrutiny for throwing the ball angrily at the stumps after Marnus Labuschagne backed away due to a distraction.
Australia resumed their innings at 86/1 on the second day, with Siraj starting the proceedings for India alongside Jasprit Bumrah.
During the third over of the day, Siraj bowled a good length delivery and the ball took an inside-edge onto Labuschagne’s pads. The right-arm quick was so confident about the LBW dismissal that he started celebrating without even looking at the umpire.
Siraj looked back after crossing the batter to find out that umpire Richard Illingworth was shaking his head. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also decided against taking the review as he was sure of the Australian batter nicking the ball before it struck his pads.
