The battle between Mohammed Siraj and Marnus Labuschagne, which got ignited during the first Test of the BGT 2024 between India and Australia in Perth, got a new chapter added in the ongoing second Test in Adelaide, which began on December 6.
India, who opted to bat first after captain Rohit Sharma won the toss, were bowled out for 180 runs with Nitish Reddy top-scoring with 42, while Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pantcontributedg as well. Mitchell Starc was the pick of Aussie bowlers as he took his career-best 6/48.
In reply, Jasprit Bumrah dismissed Usman Khawaja early, but Marnus Labuschagne and Nathan McSweeney resisted India bowlers with grit and resilience.
A fired-up Mohammed Siraj was bowling to Marnus Labuschagne in the 25th over of the Australian innings when the batter moved away from his stance due to distraction after a spectator was seen walking near the sight screen
The person distracting Marnus was a fan who was carrying a huge stack of beer cups and moved straight across the sight screen. However, Siraj in his emotions, got frustrated and threw the ball at the stumps from his delivery stride. Marnus laughed off and signaled him towards the fans distracting him after the incident.
Here is the video:
Siraj conceded a boundary with the very next delivery. Siraj bowled one short outside the off-stump, and Labuschagne hit a fierce cut shot to grab a boundary behind point.
