Sarfaraz Khan’s comical attempt at a catch during the slip-catching practice ahead of India’s first Test of the BGT 2024 against Australia in Perth, led to Virat Kohli, Dhruv Jurel, and Rishabh Pant laughing out loud. Pant even rolled on the floor in laughter and then mockingly hit Sarfaraz.
Indian team has intensified their preparation ahead of the first Test in Perth that begins on November 22. The match will be played at the Optus Perth Stadium and the Indian team shifted to the venue, after four days of match-practice at the WACA Stadium.
On day 1 of training at the venue, Kohli, Sarfaraz, and Dhruv Jurel stood next to each other for slip-catching drills. Pant was also standing close by.
The ball came Sarfaraz's way and the Mumbai batter attempted to catch it close to his face and ultimately dropped it while the other three prepared. Sarfaraz’s hand position to take the catch was funny, leading to others laughing out loud at his cost.
Both Kohli, Jurel, and Pant were inconsolable after the missed catch. Pant collapsed to the ground in laughter, and Kohli joined the wicketkeeper in making fun of Sarfaraz.
Pant then mockingly hit Sarfaraz, who smilingly tried to explain how he missed the catch.
