India was taken to the brink by the home side Bangladesh in the second Test in Dhaka as they barely managed to cross the finishing line thanks to an amazing 71*-run partnership between Shreyas Iyer and R Ashwin, as India won the second Test by 3 wickets and pocketed the series 2-0.
India had ended day 3 on 45/4 in the chase of 145 runs and on day 4, lost Jaydev Unadkat for 13 runs to Shakib Al Hasan, and Akshar Patel’s 69-ball 34-run knock was ended by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Much was expected from the Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant combo, but Mehidy got the big scalp of Rishabh for 9 runs.
On the other end, Iyer played the anchor role end and R Ashwin gave him great company as India inched towards the victory line, despite threats from Shakib, Mehidy, and Taijul.

Iyer remained unbeaten on 29 and Ashwin (42*) hit Mehidy for 14 runs in one over to take India past the finish line as India won the match by 3 wickets and the series 2-0. Mehidy Hasan picked up five wickets in the second innings.
R Ashwin was named the Player of the Match for his six wickets in the match and his unbeaten innings in the tense chase. Cheteshwar Pujara was named the Player of the Series.
