After winning the first Test against Bangladesh in Chattogram, India entered the second and final Test with the aim of a clean sweep at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday (December 22).
Team India has made only one change in its playing XI for the second Test against Bangladesh, as head coach Rahul Dravid and stand-in captain KL Rahul decided to drop Kuldeep Yadav to bring in Jaydev Unadkat to the side seeing the green tinge on the Dhaka pitch—a move that didn’t go down well with the Indian cricket team fans.
Notably, Kuldeep returned to the Indian Test team after two years and was impressive with both bat and ball in Chattogram, taking 8 wickets and scoring 40 runs to help the tourists win the first Test by 188 runs against Bangladesh. He was named Player of the Match for his incredible performance.
Despite his stunning performance, the leg-spinner had to make way for Unadkat, who is playing his second Test after a gap of 12 years and after 118 Tests.
Notably, Unadkat (12 years and 2 days) became the second cricketer in the history of Indian cricket after the late Lala Amarnath (12 years and 129 days) to return to the Test side after such a long gap.
Meanwhile, Kuldeep would have been certainly disappointed after being dropped after only one match, and now the fans have also been lashing out at KL Rahul and Dravid for the move.
They have been heavily criticized for doing injustice to Kuldeep on social media.
