The Indian team defeated Bangladesh in the first Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chaudhry Stadium in Chattogram by 188 runs on day five of the game to go 1-0 up in the two-Test series.
Akshar Patel’s four and Kuldeep Yadav’s three wickets were enough for India to finally bowl out Bangladesh, who put up a good fight thanks to Zakir Hasan’s debut Test ton, Shakib Al Hasan’s 84 and a half-century from Najmul Hossain Shanto.
Though they scored 324 runs in their second innings, the target of 513 runs was just too much for the young Bangla batters and they lost the Test by a huge margin.
Kuldeep Yadav was named the Player of the Match for his 8 wickets including a fifer in the 1st innings and 40 runs with the bat.
Meanwhile, after the match ended, the Indian team had a practice session that saw ace batter Virat Kohli getting into the groove and prepping for the second match in Dhaka as well. Kohli didn’t have a very good outing in the Test match, scoring 1 and 19*.
