Saurashtra captain Jaydev Unadkat has finally reached Bangladesh, and the Indian cricket team has warmly welcomed back the veteran pacer to the team on Thursday (December 15).
The 31-year-old was recalled to Team India after 12 years as a replacement for the injured Mohammad Shami, but he couldn’t travel to Bangladesh in time, so he missed the opportunity to make his only second appearance in whites for the first time since 2010 in the ongoing first test in Chattogram.
Actually, the veteran pacer’s arrival in Bangladesh was delayed due to visa issues, and he had no option but to miss out on the first Test match that had already got underway on December 15.
Well, it remains to be seen whether Unadkat gets the opportunity in the second and final test against Bangladesh, which will be played in Dhaka.
Meanwhile, Jaydev Unadkat arrived in Chattogram on Thursday, and he was warmly welcomed by the Indian team. The BCCI shared a picture of Unadkat with the team, which showed how he was welcomed by the members.
BCCI captioned the Twitter post: “Hey Jaydev Unadkat, welcome back to Team India.”
Notably, Unadkat, who recently led Saurashtra to the Vijay Hazare Trophy title, was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 19 scalps in 10 games. He has so far picked up 353 wickets in 96 first-class matches.
