Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra and veteran wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik reacted to Shreyas Iyer getting a surprising lifeline after bails failed to dislodge on the opening day of the first Test match against Bangladesh on Wednesday (December 14) in Chattogram.

It seemed that Iyer's luck was with him throughout Day 1 of the first Test against Bangladesh, as the right-hander was already dropped twice earlier, and then he received yet another massive slice of luck in the 84th over of Team India’s innings in Chattogram.

Actually, Ebadot Hossain managed to breach Iyer’s defence with a back-of-the-length delivery to hit the stumps. However, one of the bails lit up, but none was dislodged and rested back on the stumps as the ball hit the outside of the off-stump on its way, giving another lifeline to Iyer.

According to the rules, Iyer couldn't be given out as the bails were resting on the stump, and it left the Bangladesh fielders and players in disbelief.

Meanwhile, reacting to the incident, Dinesh Karthik shared a picture from the moment and tweeted: “When God has other plans for you!”

On the other hand, Aakash Chopra tweeted: “Zing Bails are a bit of a joke…Honestly…if it lights up, it should be OUT. #BanvInd”

Well, the Indian batter remained unbeaten on 82*, as the tourists' score read 278/6 at the stumps on Day 1 against Bangladesh.
