BAN v IND 2022: ‘Always knew he’ll comeback with a failure’- Virat Kohli gets roasted after his dismissal and reaction

India won the toss and chose to bat first in 1st Test v Bangladesh in Chattogram.

Virat Kohli was out LBW to Taijul Islam for 1 run in 1st Test v Bangladesh | TwitterThe first Test between Bangladesh and India began in Chattogram on December 14, 2022. The two-match series is very important for India who need to win 5 out of their six remaining Tests in order to qualify for the ICC World Test Championship 2023 final.

India’s stand-in captain KL Rahul started off well by winning the toss and choosing to bat first. India went with three spinners in Akshar Patel, R Ashwin, and Kuldeep Yadav. Bangladesh gave a Test debut to opener Zakir Hasan.

Openers Shubman Gill and Rahul started cautiously and both reached their 20s before getting out. Rahul was bowled by Khaled Ahmed for 22 and Gill was out paddle-sweeping Taijul Islam for 20.

This brought out Virat Kohli, who was coming off a century in the third ODI at the same venue. However, his stay was a short one of 5 balls as he was dismissed LBW by Taijul, who bowled a beauty on the leg-stump, which turned ever so slightly, beating his bat and hitting his back pad.

Kohli took the DRS, but the review showed no edge in the ultraedge and ball tracking showed the ball pitching on the leg and turning enough to hit the middle stump. The former India captain was given out for 1 run.

Virat has not been in the best of form in Tests since 2020, scoring 873 runs in 19 matches with 6 half-centuries and no centuries to his name, averaging 26.45.

He was massively slammed by Twitterverse for his reaction after getting out as it was a familiar shocked expression as to if it was a very brilliant ball that got him out.

Here are some of the reactions roasting Kohli for his reaction and dismissal:
