Saurashtra captain Jaydev Unadkat earned his second Indian Test team call-up for the upcoming two-match series against Bangladesh, 12 years after he had played his only Test thus far against South Africa.
Unadkat one of the veterans of the Indian domestic scene, despite being only 31 years old, had played his first and till now only Test in Centurion at the age of 19 in 2010 and failed to pick any wicket on his debut.
After that, he was never called up for Tests until now, but he managed to play 7 ODIs and 10 T20Is picking up a total of 22 wickets.
However, he has done extremely well for Saurashtra in domestic cricket leading them to the Ranji Trophy title in the 2019-20 season and recently led them to the Vijay Hazare Trophy title as well, finishing as the highest wicket-taker with 19 scalps in 10 matches.

He will have stiff competition from Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini for the spot in the Indian XI for the Test matches with Mohammed Siraj and Umesh Yadav being almost the first-choice picks.
