Young Indian batter Ishan Kishan smashed an outstanding knock in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday (December 10).

The left-handed opener played a record-breaking knock of 210 off just 131 balls, studded with 24 fours and 10 sixes, and shared a 290-run stand with Virat Kohli (113) for the second wicket to help Team India post a mammoth total of 409/8 runs on the board against Bangladesh.

After the end of India’s innings, Kishan said that the pitch was very good for batting, and he felt he could have touched the 300-run mark if he had not gotten out. The youngster also opened up about how Kohli helped him throughout his marathon knock against the Tigers on Saturday.

Ishan Kishan told Sony Sports during the innings break, “The wicket was too good to bat on. My intent was very clear - if the ball is there, I'll go for it. I'm blessed to hear my name amid such legends. Still feel when I got out - 15 overs were left. Could've scored 300 also.”

Crediting Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav for his knock, the 24-year-old said: “Batting with Virat bhai, he has such good sense of the game. He was calming me down when I was in my 90s. I wanted to bring it up with a six, but he said to get it in singles as it's your first.”

Ishan signed off by saying, “Had a chat with Surya bhai - he said when you bat before the game, you see the ball well. I didn't take too much pressure on myself. Just wanted to make use of the opportunity.”
