There is still one ODI left in the series which will be played in Chattogram on December 10.

India was completely outplayed by Bangladesh as they rebuild their innings from 69/6 to 271/7 with Mehidy Hasan Miraz making his first ODI ton (100*) and adding 148 runs for the 7th wicket with Mahmudullah who made 77 runs.

Then Bangladeshi bowlers reduced India to 65/4 before Shreyas Iyer (82) and Akshar Patel (56) added 107 runs for the 5th wicket. But Bangla bowlers struck back and built pressure, which led to Rohit Sharma coming out to bat at no.9 with a dislocated thumb and smacked 51* in 28 balls with 5 sixes and 3 fours, but India fell short by 5 runs in the end.

Reacting to this embarrassing loss, Virender Sehwag compared the fall in the performance of the Indian team with Cryptocurrency.

He tweeted: "Cryptos se bhi tez gir rahi hai apni performance yaar. Need to shake up - wake up.”

Former fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad reckoned that Team India needs to bring in ‘drastic changes’ in their approach to playing limited-overs cricket. He added that India needed to learn from England, who made big changes to their approach after the 2015 World Cup exit in the first round and took tough calls, to become a force in all formats.

India is innovating in so many fields across the world. But when it comes to playing Limited overs cricket, our approach is a decade old. England after the 2015 WC first-round exit, took tough calls and turned around to become such an exciting team, India needs to take tough calls,” Prasad said.

And change approach drastically. We haven’t won a T20 WC since the IPL started & last 5 years have been poor in ODI’s apart from winning inconsequential bilateral. Haven’t learned from our mistakes for too long and are far from being an exciting team in limited-overs cricket. CHANGE,” he added.

India will look to evade a whitewash when they take the field at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram in the third ODI on December 10.
