BAN v IND 2022: Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal ruled out of India ODIs; Taskin Ahmed to miss 1st match- Report

The three ODIs will be played on Dec 4, 7 and 10.

Tamim Iqbal | TwitterBangladesh team was dealt a huge blow after captain Tamim Iqbal was ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against India starting December 4 onwards and as per reports, he is doubtful for the first Test match as well.

As per a Cricbuzz report, Tamim picked up a groin injury during the warm-up game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on November 30 and has now been advised two weeks of rest.

The ODI series ends on December 10 and the first Test match begins on December 14 onwards, and this means Tamim Iqbal will face the tough task of getting fit in time.

Taskin Ahmed | APApart from this, Bangladesh will miss the services of pacer Taskin Ahmed for the first ODI as his back pain reoccurred. Ahmed has been in a rich vein of form and was supposed to lead the home team's pace attack considering the form he has been carrying.

"Taskin is ruled out from the opening game of the ODIs as his back pain recurred. We wil be seeing his progress before taking further decision regarding his participation,” Abedin told Cricbuzz on Thursday.

For now, Shoriful Islam has been called in as a backup in the ODI squad.
