India won the toss in the Asia Cup 2025 final and chose to field. Pakistan started well as Sahibzada Farhan scored 57 off 36 and added 84 with Fakhar Zaman (46). But from 113/1, Pakistan collapsed to 146 all out. Kuldeep Yadav took 4/30, including three wickets in one over, while Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Axar Patel claimed two each.
India’s reply began poorly at 20/3 after the quick dismissals of Abhishek Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shubman Gill. Sanju Samson (24) and Tilak Varma steadied the innings before Tilak added a vital 60-run stand with Shivam Dube. Dube’s 33 off 22, highlighted by a massive six off Haris Rauf, shifted the momentum.
Tilak Varma finished unbeaten on 69 from 53 balls, striking three fours and four sixes. Rinku Singh hit the winning boundary as India defeated Pakistan by five wickets to secure their ninth Asia Cup crown.
As there was a delay in the presentation ceremony after the BCCI and Indian team refused to receive their winners’ medals and Asia Cup trophy from PCB chief and ACC chair Mohsin Naqvi. There was more than 45 minutes of delay for the ceremony to begin, and meanwhile, Indian team players spent time chatting and making Instagram reels.
Arshdeep Singh gave fans a funny homage to the rivalry by replicating a famous viral video following India's stunning final-over victory. The Indian pacer posted three videos on social media that included himself, Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma, and Kuldeep Yadav.
In the clip, the left-arm pacer jokingly asks Tilak Varma, "Final match, you perform. What's happening?" referencing a video in which a Bangladeshi journalist asks questions to various cricketers, including Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, after a BPL tournament final. The funny broken-English interview went viral on social media and is now widely used as a joke.
Tilak, in a funny manner, replied, "Lot of happening. Winning celebration and a lot of happening."
Arshdeep also asks Abhihshek Sharma -"Full tournament you perform. What happening." The southpaw replies, "Final match. What happening? Good happening. Final match. Sometimes bad happening."
Arshdeep asks a similar question to Kuldeep Yadav who gets surprised at first and then replies, "What happening? Happening good."
