Abrar Ahmed and Wanindu Hasaranga imitated each other's celebrations during the Asia Cup 2025 Super 4 clash between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday (September 23).
During Sri Lanka’s innings, Abrar knocked over Hasaranga and celebrated by doing the Sri Lankan’s trademark move.
In Pakistan’s chase, Hasaranga returned the favour as he took brilliant one-handed catch to dismiss Fakhar Zaman. Later on, he claimed the wickets of Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha. On all three occasions, he mimicked the celebration of Abrar.
However, both players shared a heartwarming moment of mutual respect at the end of the match. They were seen smiling and hugging, shortly after a light-hearted banter on the field.
Coming to the match, Pakistan registered a five-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the crucial Super Four match to keep hopes alive for advancing to the Asia Cup 2025 final.
The Men in Green chased down a modest 134-run target with 12 balls remaining to all but knock Sri Lanka out of the continental event.
