India registered their second win over Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, this time in the Super Fours encounter. This match was played in Dubai on September 21, 2025. India won the toss and chose to bat first.
Hardik Pandya gave India a good start, dismissing Fakhar Zaman for 15 runs. But then Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub (21) added 72 runs for the second wicket.
Farhan played brilliantly and made 58 in 45 balls with five fours and 3 sixes. Mohammad Nawaz (21) and Faheem Ashraf (20*) propelled Pakistan's total to 171/5 in 20 overs. Shivam Dube picked 2/33 in his 4 overs.
In response, Abhishek Sharma started by hitting Shaheen Afridi for a six off the first ball, and then Shubman Gill joined in as well. The duo brought up India’s 50 in 4.4 overs as Pakistan bowlers looked out of sorts against Gill and Abhishek.
Shubman Gill was looking good but fell for 47 with 8 fours to his name after adding 105 runs for the first wicket with Abhishek Sharma. Sharma, on the other hand, continued hammering the Pakistani bowlers, spinners, or pacers. He made 74 in 39 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes.
Pakistan managed to bag two quick wickets, with Abhishek falling to Abrar and Suryakumar Yadav falling for a duck to Haris Rauf. But then Tilak Varma, with 30* in 19 balls, escorted India safely past the winning line. Haris Rauf took 2/26 for Pakistan.
India won by 6 wickets with 7 balls to spare. This was their second win over Pakistan in this Asia Cup, and the social media was full of all praises for Abhishek Sharma, who won the Player of the Match.
