The recent India v Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 game was won by India by seven wickets in a one-sided affair in Dubai on Sunday, but off the pitch, the controversies just keep coming.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took exception at the lack of handshakes between the players from the two teams during the match at the Dubai International Stadium and wrote to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to request that match referee Andy Pycroft be removed immediately.
In addition to this, Pakistan was humiliated before the match because of a mistake made by the DJ and sound crew.
As the highly popular song "Jalebi Baby" by Tesher and Jason Derulo reverberated throughout the Dubai International Stadium, the DJ made a mistake when it came time to play Pakistan's national anthem. After about six seconds of the song buzzing over the auditorium, the Pakistan National Anthem was played again.
Tesher, the singer of "Jalebi Baby," responded to the flurry of social media responses to this by making fun of the Pakistani squad.
“Shout out to the sound guy for messing up the anthem and making this an absolutely hilarious day for me. Accidents happen to the best of us; God bless u, whoever you are,” Tesher posted on his Instagram story.
Not just this, Tesher shared several other Instagram Stories, mocking the incident.
He also shared a video on Instagram with the caption, “Jalebi Baby is always the right anthem.”
In the small clip, he laughed out loud, saying, “When I said Jalebi Baby was an anthem, this is not what I had in mind.”
On Wednesday, Pakistan will play the United Arab Emirates, while India will next play Oman. The next game for Suryakumar Yadav's side is scheduled for Friday, September 19, at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
